PENGEN HAMIL
Horror does not merely come from ghost stories plagued by ghosts, Get Out seems to represent the unpleasant experience of some people when first visiting boyfriend / prospective in-laws. Visits that sometimes end up a nightmare with a long trace, even more horrible than there are demons who ride on the back (bener baseball yes). Jordan Peele, perhaps one of those people who once had memories of not wearing a lover's parents, who then underlies the story in his horror movie. We will be invited to meet Chris Washington (Daniel Kaluuya) and Rose Armitage (Allison Williams), lovers of different skin colors who love each other. Both agreed to spend the weekend at Rose's house, as well as the event to bring Chris with her boyfriend's parents. Chris's hesitation to be accepted by Mamah and Papah Rose, due to his reason for being black, was then parried by the statement: Papah I idolized President Obama. At first all seemed normal, the Armitage family was not a racist white race like Chris's shadow.Like the clever Armitage family camouflaged to hide their true identity, Get Out would not look like a horror in the first half. Behind the comedic taste, Jordan Peele very tightly wraps the horror that will happen in the second half, the smell of mystery is so thick but will not be rushed dismantled. Before we get dragged deeper, Jordan really wants his audience to care about Chris's character, he's just an ordinary guy who does not like UFC because he's too brutal. So do not expect Get Out to be the same as most horror movies that choose quantity rather than quality, more shocking the audience, but forget to build important elements to create an effective and significant effect. For business jump scares, I can say people who are not easily made to jump from a chair, but his dog, Jordan managed to do that just by utilizing a simple trick that is actually a little stale. Why can it work? Jump scares that Jordan built patiently waited until I was completely under guard.Yes, jump scares also need to be raised in the right timing for effective impact and no waste of duration. Unfortunately, most horror films seem indifferent in placing scenes aimed at giving a shock effect. The number is not counted fingers and often jump scares are not given pause time of appearance. Instead of increasing the tension, scandal jump parades with instant formulas usually have a grueling effect. His bastard, Get Out knows how to release his surprises without forgetting his story and his character. 100 minutes is evenly split to make the audience shudder with horror and care about Chris's fate. Jordan occasionally threw satirical jokes, a bit of a jolt for a moment to rest the seriously mixed-up faces. Although from the beginning Get Out set out on a comedic horror-thriller theme, Jordan never forced his horror movie to look ridiculous, and his punch line fits without having to disrupt the tension being built by Jordan. It was fun to be able to laugh for a while in the head full of unanswered questions.
