JUDUL:

Since its emergence on twitter alongside a row of promotional media, including its ghostly posters and trailers, The Void had immediately seized my attention: "This is @VoidMovie what kind of movie? It's like immoral and bastard like Baskin nih." That's roughly I was so impatient to watch the full version of the crazy duo movie Steven Kostanski and Jeremy Gillespie, who previously made crazy movies called Manborg and Father's Day. Like Can Evrenol's successful Baskin delivering an unparalleled horror experience, I hope The Void will not be a mediocre spectacle. In short, Kostanski and Gillespie did not disappoint, The Void is indeed a perfect horror film, but the pure intention to take the audience into a world full of wonders and fantasies lied to pieces of toes festered. The Void is not forced to cover up the flaws lying here and there, hard to surpass something in worse than hell, for me no longer cares about the lack of it.The Void will introduce us to Daniel Carter (Aaron Poole), a sheriff's deputy who is often trapped in a hospital after delivering a disjointed man by the side of the road. A group of hooded men in white robes with black triangles on their faces, suddenly appear to attack Daniel and surround the hospital. Lost in number and do not know what these cloaked men will do, Daniel and several people, including Allison Fraser (Kathleen Munroe) and Doctor Richard Powell (Kenneth Welsh), chose to remain in the hospital. Instead of being safe, Daniel and the others are cooped up with something worse and the Halloween-dressed parents armed with knives. Kostanski and Gillespie did not have time to make small talk, the cloaked people were just the beginning of the nightmare contents that 90 minutes will be displayed with all the oddities and unreasonable scenes. Watdefak show that will make mouth width and brain contents spurt out through ears. The choice of odd scenes of magic bin will indeed be the main menu that will be owned by The Void, an embodiment of Kostanski and Gillespie's crazy ideas to bring a nightmare that had never been imagined before. Utilizing the only location of the hospital, waking up "what is hell" really awakens very seriously, especially when talking about how Void creates creatures with a very scary form. From the hollow creature in the face to the combined Hellboy Sammael creature, the sea monster from The Host, and the cockroach in the Mimic movie. John Carpenter might immediately shout "dog!" Take what Kostanski and Gillespie did. Especially now. Void prefers the old way to live these creatures, from the drawing of the sketches to the real look in the eyes of the spectators thanks to the impressive use of practical effects. The Void can not display nightmares, but also invites us to re-sensation ever offered by horror movies made in the 80s.

The Void's advantages in creating horrible creatures, underpinned by the practical effects that are done so seriously and in detail, are unfortunately not followed by the presentation of a solid story and a capable acting. Characters that go back and forth, including Daniel Carter, only serve to lead us into a room of Kostanski and Gillespie's vomit. Although in the end I do not care about the fate of the protagonist and the people who are confined in the hospital, The Void at least knows how to give a spectacle of horror that can be practically entertaining. Yet from the beginning, I did not expect anything from the story or acting of Aaron Poole, I was quite satisfied crammed script and dialogues-style dialogue. The Void is not present for applause for storytelling and acting, Kostanski and Gillespie's focus is to drag us into nightmares, and they manage to do the homework with perfect value. A homage of horrific, terrifying 80s horror movies, as well as gory bloody filling.
